There are 4 important things to note before you send us your repair:
Cleaning
First and foremost your piece/s must be 100% clean before sending to us. If your piece arrives dirty there will be a cleaning fee charged. The fee will be a minimum of $20 up to $100 depending on how dirty your piece is. It is very important your piece be clean for many reasons. A dirty piece put into the kiln can cause damage to both the kiln and the piece. Any residue can possibly get burned into the glass causing staining and imperfections. We recommend flushing your piece thoroughly with hot water and using 99% ISO to clean it while warm. If you need any tips for cleaning feel free to reach out.
Packing your piece
Please include a piece of paper inside the box with your name, the name of your piece, what's broken, the date and your email or Instagram handle depending upon how you contacted us. This helps us stay organized and insure we can reach you easily. Please pack your piece well by putting it in a hard case or wrapping it very thoroughly with bubble wrap and surrounding the case or piece with several inches of packing materials like packing peanuts. If you have questions or would like tips on packing please reach out. You can find lots of great articles and youtube videos online if you search "How to ship glass" or "How to pack glass for shipping."
Waiting Period
Repairs may take anywhere from a few weeks to 6 months or more. Our business is small and most repairs are done solely by owner Dylan Kelley. His schedule is very busy, he creates all of the designs, does graphic design, oversees everything in addition to filling wholesale orders, making most of the custom orders, repairs and doing all of show pieces and collabs. In order to meet deadlines, keep business flowing and sales moving we have to prioritize orders and show pieces to repairs. Depending on timing your repair might be done in as soon as a week or two or it may take more than 6 months. The repair process requires an empty cold kiln and we run a shop with a variety of artists renting space and depending upon schedules it can be hard to work in repairs. He likes to give each repair the time and energy they deserve and doesn't like to rush them. If you have a date you would like to have your piece repaired by like a birthday or big event please let us know ahead of time and we'll do our best to let you know if that's feasible and accommodate you if it is. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this process.
Risks
There's always a tiny chance your piece will crack or even explode during the repair process. If it cracks we will seal the cracks and make it look as good as possible. If it breaks and is not repairable we will offer a discount on a new piece, but will not give a refund on the repair work done. There is also a chance small air bubbles may occur during the process and any water stains or bloom may become more pronounced. We will do our very best to eliminate these risks and ensure your piece looks as good as or even better than new, but we like to be upfront and warn of the small possibility that there may be issues during the process.
